These pretty place mats are made of dried, natural banana leaves (bark) that have been glued to a stiff white paper board for sturdiness. Each placemat has a white edge all around it, and is finished with a large black raffia stitch. These place mats are each handmade by skilled artisans on the island country of Madagascar.
